The University of Gothenburg acquired the only dissolution DNP (dDNP) polarizer in Sweden, capable of enhancing liquid state signals by five orders of magnitudes! Five orders of magnitude is a loooot. Imagine getting a NMR signal 10 000 times larger than usual, you would be able to see EVERYTHING! The dDNP magnet hyperpolarizes samples at a temperature of 1 Kelvin at has a strength of 5 Tesla. Microwave irradiation together with doping the sample with radical molecules allows one to reach polarizations close to unity in the polarizer. Then, a dissolution with superheated D2O melts the sample in a fraction of seconds, and transfers this hyperpolarized liquid to the nearby 800 MHz where the signal is acquired with high resolution, and ultra high sensitivity. This is the state of the art in Sweden. If you have a sample where you don't have enough signal, contact arthur.pinon@gu.se to be able to use it!
