Hi, on Monday 3rd September I will discuss the paper Space is the Place: Effects of Continuous Spatial Structure on Analysis of Population Genetic Data by . The paper discusses the effects of spatial structure on population genetics statistics, GWAS, and demographic inference. It uses a forward-simulator, SLiM3, to generate sequence data that are then processed. This type These types of calculation calculations have just recently become possible due to algorithmic advances and improved data structures for storing genealogical data. The discussion is a continuation from the previous session and my intention is to relate forward simulation to the coalescent, as well as discuss the importance of population structure in genetics. A jupyter notebook is in the making.
