Joint NBIS and DC Tech group for Artificial Intelligence and Integrative Omics (NBIS AI and IO)
Scope
This Tech group focuses on analysis methods rather than a specific medical or biological research field, or a specific omics or data type. In particular the main focus is on the theory, implementation and application of advanced multivariate analysis methods. The main interest of the members includes, but are not necessarily limited to,
Neural Nets/Deep Learning
Machine Learning integrative (omics) analysis
Network-based integrative (omics) analysis
Knowledge graphs
General Machine Learning
Imaging/spatial omics analysis
Data engineering and data analyses (reproducibility?)
The NBIS tech groups are internal to NBIS and Scilifelab Data Centre.
Aim
The aim is to share and discuss experiences as well as explore and evaluate new (and old) approaches within the scope. The tech group should be a forum for feedback across support teams about analyses and approaches within the scope. It could provide an asset for NBIS training events in the scope.

The seminar series is open to the public and announced on the Scilifelab slack and new items, as well as a seminar series group email.
Monthly meetings, the third Friday in the month at 10.00, over zoom http://meet.nbis.se/aiaio . In practice this could mean 3-4 sessions per semester.

The proposal is to have these, say, 30 mins before or after the AI/ML jc/ss and allow members to discuss general or specific issues relating to the tech group. Longer sessions can be announced if needed, e.g., for some event or course, should needs arise; these can also apply to a subset of members.
Biannual physical meeting?
