Notes

Existing work

@Irene Stevens (Unlicensed)

  • Irene has a medical background, started by setting up a web form with questions

  • Collected ~34 responses so far using a Microsoft App and started building a prototype dashboard

  • Had difficulties sharing the Microsoft products publicly, without any form of authentication

Open source tool

@Phil Ewels

Survey questions

@Phil Ewels

  • Existing questions were started with a Norwegian list and then merged with a set of questions from a preprint discussing predictive modelling of coronavirus infections

  • Discussion of questions can be found here: https://github.com/BustByte/coronastatus/issues/245

  • Potentially some flexibility in the questions if needed. Good to keep these as static as possible once the site launches however.

Hosting

@Linus Östberg (Unlicensed)

  • SciLifeLab Data Office has just set up a Kubernetes cluster, intended for web hosting using docker containers. Would be ideal for this project

Domain name

  • Would be good to avoid tethering the domain to any specific institution (SciLifeLab / UU etc)

  • coronastatus.se is the logical domain to fit in with the network, but is taken

  • corona-status.se is possible

  • We can address this at a later date, easy to move the site between domains as needed

Promotion of websites

@Phil Ewels

  • Key to this project being a success is it (a) being endorsed by the community and (b) not competing with other similar initiatives

  • Idea is to build a prototype version of the site and write a proposal. Then make this plan available to management and ask for feedback and suggestions.

  • Relevant channels will be key - who does this come from?
